We believe there is always more we can do to support our students and our community with regards to inclusivity in our ever-changing world. Independent Schools and Alternative Provisions are safe learning environments for young people with emotional and social difficulties, they offer a safe and inclusive place to learn and achieve, where individuality is embraced. Such examples could be LGBTQ+ and a range of traumatic experiences such as grief and loss.
During the week of the 21st of June 2021, we are hoping to come together collectively to hold daily virtual events in all settings across Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire, with the hope of coming together on the 25th of June, with a festival themed celebration day, Covid dependent.
This week is to be full of colour, music, acts, food and talks, to celebrate how all our young people are unique in their own ways and to share all their amazing achievements, whilst discussing some exceedingly difficult topics. We are hoping through the week to cover:
Mental Health
LGBTQ+
Self-Harm
Rape and Sexual assault
Domestic Violence
Criminality and its consequences
Drugs
Fighting and knife crime
County lines
Sexual exploitation
Loneliness
FGM
Lincolnshire County Council are supporting this event and we are hoping that local Charities will also be involved, and this will assist in spreading their fantastic work too.
There will be lots of exciting news to come for this event so keep popping back!
